Discomfort Is Comfortable

If you want to peer how smooth human beings are becoming, have a study how they reply to bloodless. I wrote this in London some days ago. What was the climate like? I'm not going to fake it became tropical - it become darn chilly. But based on how human beings dressed, you'd suppose they have been in a snow fall.

I don't mean to be bagging on London. It's a notable city full of splendid human beings.

And I'm clearly no longer saying us Aussies are more difficult with anything, not to mention the cold.

My point is that this:

I travelled from a northern Australian summer season to a grey London wintry weather. The temperature surprise may want to have broken me. If everybody had an excuse to rug up in ski equipment, it turned into me.

Instead, I took bloodless showers.

After one of those, even London feels comfortable.

I'm now not saying I was continually comfy. I shivered, hugged myself and cursed the icy breezes.

But I became a whole lot comfier than if I'd saved myself heat the whole time.

Discomfort trains you to deal with discomfort.

Comfort does not.

If you want to be heat in winter, do not turn the heater on. That's an outside source of warmth. If you're taking bloodless showers (or even better - ice baths), then you definitely become the source of heat.

You can carry that with you anywhere you cross.

And you may freak human beings out by wearing shirts at the same time as they put on coats over jackets over cardigans over thermals.

How do you learn how to embrace soreness and discover your inner energy?

This is the final benefit of mindfulness. People talk approximately it calming and grounding you, which it does. It also permits you to take a look at sensations without identifying them.

There's a world of distinction among "I'm bloodless" and "this frame feels as though it is cold".
